FAQs

Hopefully I will have answered most of your queries regarding our Celebrant led ceremonies here at Days to Remember. But, if you have a question that isn’t answered below, please do get in touch!

WHAT IS A CELEBRANT?

A Celebrant is an alternative to a Registrar or Vicar who will write and conduct a bespoke ceremony to mark an important life event. Because a Celebrant is not restricted by legalities (see more info below) your ceremony can take place anytime anywhere. So if you want to host a Naming Day or Wedding in your garden, in a forest or flying high in a hot air balloon …. you can!

WILL A CELEBRANT LED WEDDING BE LEGAL?

As it stands, no. But this should not put you off a Celebrant led wedding. You can sew up all the legal bits at your local Registry Office pretty cheaply either before or after your wedding ceremony. It currently costs £46 for the statutory declaration at any Registry Office plus £70 to give Notice to Marry.

Once that’s all wrapped up you can get ready for your big day with your friends and family and celebrate your union with a personal ceremony that tells your story, your way without compromise!

DO WE HAVE TO WRITE OUR OWN VOWS?

No, but it is encouraged. Whilst I can write your vows for you, they will always be more personal if they come from your heart (gushy right? But true! ). However, I am very happy to help you write your vows to make sure you are super happy with them!

IS THERE A CEREMONY REHEARSAL INCLUDED?

For a wedding, most certainly yes! It will give us time to work out the choreography and give you peace of mind that you know what is happening at every stage of the ceremony. This will usually take place the day before the wedding itself and is included in the package.

A rehearsal is not so necessary for a Naming Day but I am very happy to discuss the possibility further if this is something you feel you would require.

DO YOU CONDUCT SAME-SEX CEREMONIES?

A big fat yes!! Love is love and that’s so worth celebrating!

DO YOU ALLOW RELIGIOUS CONTENT?

Absolutely! The beauty of a Celebrant led ceremony is that it reflects you as a couple. Mixed faiths is one of the reasons why couples often choose a Celebrant led ceremony as rituals can be included from any religion or not included at all!

CAN WE GET MARRIED ABROAD AND HOLD ANOTHER CEREMONY AT HOME FOR FRIENDS AND FAMILY?

Of course! Another common reason why couples choose to have a Celebrant led ceremony in the UK is so that they share the magic of their special day  with those who were unable to travel for their wedding day abroad.

HOW DO I KNOW YOU’RE THE RIGHT CELEBRANT?

I want you to be sure that I am the right person for you. I offer a no obligation, free chat either in person over a coffee or hot choc (for us caffeine free folk) or over a video call if time/geography does not allow. Why not get in touch and let’s see if we are a match!

HOW SOON DO I GET IN TOUCH?

It’s never too soon! I’d love to hear from you wherever you are in the timeline of planning your big day!
